The morning of 10th November, 2016 at Neyveli started with high spirits as 6000 children from 16 different schools across Neyveli participated in “Mini marathon” organised by NLC India Limited, as part of Swachh Bharath Pakhwada.
Shri N.Muthu, Executive Director/HR, NLC India ltd. ,the Chief Guest of the occasion flagged of the Mini marathon in the presence of Shri S. Sridhar, Executive Director, PR, Education, CSR & TA . This Mini marathon,to create awareness among public and school children on Clean India Mission started at 7.30 am from Jambulinga Mudaliaar Square to and ended at Gandhi Statue covering around 2.5 Km at Neyveli.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Shri N.Muthu, the chief guest , said that NLC India Limited passionately adopted “Swachh Bharat Mission” and celebrates Swachh Bharath Pakhwada from 1.11.2016 to 15.11.2016 to carry out the message given by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the wake of making our country clean. Involvement of school children will create awareness about cleanliness both at home and society, He added,.
He said that, in consideration of preventing pollution, organisation is going to provide Battery Operated Electric Vehicles to Temples /Heritage sites like Tirupathi Devasthanam, Madurai Meenakshi Temple etc..as part of NLC India CSR activities.
