Shri Niraj Verma IAS (Assam- Meghalaya 1994) presently posted as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India has been appointed as Member of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in National Highways Authority of India ( NHAI ) GOI, till August 22, 2018.
Shri Niraj Verma started his Indian bureaucracy career in 1996 as S D O-Land Revenue Mgmt & District(1996-97). Apart from being Secretary to CM on a couple of occasions, he has served as Additional Dy Commissioner-Goalpara (Assam)(1998-99), Joint Chief Electoral Officer- Elections (1999-2000) , Dy Commissioner-Dibrugarh (2001-04), ADC to Governor(2004- 06) , Secretary to Chief Minister -Chief Minister’s Sect (2004-06), MD- Tea Trading Corporation of India Ltd (2004-05), Project Director- Agriculture , Secretary-Planning & Programme Implementation (2008-08), Secretary- Communications & Information Technology (2008-11), Secretary-Science & Technology (2008-11). He has been in central cadre as Private Secretary to Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (2011-13) and Joint Secretary- Road Transport & Highways since 2013.
