Ms. Nidhi Tewari IFS (2014) presently Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister (Level 12 ) .
Prior to her elevation as Private Secretary, Ms. Tewari served as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) since November 2022, where she played a crucial role in policy formulation and high-level engagements. Her keen diplomatic acumen and in-depth understanding of international relations have made her a valuable asset in shaping India’s foreign policy and strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties.
Before joining the PMO, she served as Under Secretary in the Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). In this role, she was instrumental in representing India’s stance on global security issues, showcasing her expertise in strategic diplomacy and international negotiations.
Ms. Nidhi Tewari also held a prestigious diplomatic assignment as First Secretary (Political & Multilateral) at the Indian Embassy in Austria. Her role involved engaging with key multilateral institutions and furthering India’s diplomatic outreach on various global platforms.
