Under the aegis of NLC India Ltd., Neyveli, for the 22nd year, Neyveli Book Fair -2019 was organized from 05.07.2019 to 14.07.2019 at Book Fair grounds, Neyveli. To commemorate this Book Festival, Neyveli Book Fair committee in coordination with State Bank of India, Neyveli has conducted a Quiz competition for school students at various Educational Districts such Virudhachalam, Cuddalore and Neyveli during the Book Fair period. The quarter final and semifinal quiz competition was held for students at the above mentioned educational districts. The final quiz competition was conducted at Lignite Hall, Block-11, Neyveli on 10.07.2019 among the following schools.

- KALAIMAGAL MAT. HR. SEC. SCHOOL, KATTUMANNAR KOVIL
- JAWAHAR HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL (CBSE) /BLOCK-17, NEYVELI
- NLC BOYS HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL /BLOCK-10, NEYVELI
- JOHN DEWY HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, PANTRUTI
- SRI VALLIYAMMAL HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL , CUDDALORE
The programe commenced with NLCIL Theme song followed by welcome address by Shri. S. Vinayagamoorthy, Deputy General Manager/ Education, Sports & Culture. Shri. R. Vikraman, Director (HR), NLCIL the Chief Guest for the function addressed the gathering and delivered motivational speech to students. Shri Hemant Kumar, Secretary / Neyveli Book Fair & Executive Director / Mines, Shri R.Mohan, CGM/CSR & Education and other senior officials from NLCIL graced the occasion. Special address was delivered by Smt.. Shirley Thomas, General Manager, State Bank of India followed by Shri. Gundu Rao Khadri, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India. Prizes for the competition was distributed by Shri. R. Vikraman, Director/ HR, NLCIL, Smt. Shirley Thomas, General Manager, State Bank of India and other senior officials from NLCIL and State Bank of India.
The First prize winners Jawahar Hr. Sec. School (CBSE), Block-17, Neyveli were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 4500/-, book coupon of Rs.750/-, Trophy and certificate for each student. Second prize winners NLC Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Block-10, Neyveli were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 3500/-, Book coupon of Rs.750/-, certificate and Trophy for each student. Third prize winners, John Dewy Hr. Sec. School, Panruti were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.2500/-, book coupon of Rs.750/-, Trophy and certificate for each student. The consolation prize of Rs. 1500/- cash, book coupon of Rs.500/- and Certificate for each student were also awarded to the other three teams who participated in the final quiz competition. The semifinalist were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.500/- and book coupon of Rs. 250/- for each student. The State Bank of India has sponsored all the above prizes and book coupons. The programme concluded with vote of Thanks delivered by Shri. Balaji, Regional Manager, State Bank of India.
