The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a National Conclave at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi to commemorate the completion of 9 years of the Union Government. The conclave, themed “9 Years of Seva, Sushasan, Garib Kalyan,” consisted of three thematic sessions that discussed the achievements of the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and its efforts for the nation’s progress and the welfare of the people.

The first session, titled “India: Surging Ahead,” was moderated by journalist Shri Nitin Gokhale and featured distinguished speakers from various domains. The speakers included Shri Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Smt. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospital, Smt. Debjani Ghosh, President of NASSCOM, Shri Surjit Bhalla, former Executive Director for IMF India, Shri Soumya Kanti Ghosh, Group Chief Economic Advisor of State Bank of India, and Smt. Deepa Sayal, Founder and President of Indian Women Institutional League (IWIL) India.

During the session, Shri Nitin Gokhale emphasized the remarkable transformation of India into a global leader under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shri Sunil Bharti Mittal spoke about the decade of good governance under Prime Minister Modi and highlighted the decisive leadership that is focused on making India a developed nation. He mentioned the fast rollout of 5G in India and expressed confidence in achieving the audacious target of a $5 trillion economy by 2027.

Smt. Sangita Reddy praised India’s effective plan to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and credited the masterful management of the situation by Prime Minister Modi and the government. She highlighted India’s significant contribution to global vaccine manufacturing and its emergence as a medical tourism destination. Smt. Debjani Ghosh commended India’s technological advancements, financial inclusion programs, and the growth of the tech industry, emphasizing the talent and innovation that make India an innovation and startup hub.

Smt. Deepa Sayal expressed pride in the pace of change brought about by the government and lauded the growth of startups in India. Shri Surjit Bhalla hailed India as the best performing economy in the world during the COVID-19 period and praised the government’s infrastructure transformation and unique Indian innovation. Shri Soumya Kanti Ghosh presented key economic numbers and highlighted India’s rapid growth and inclusive development.

In conclusion, the speakers discussed the future of India in the next 5-10 years. They emphasized the importance of skill development, youth empowerment, innovation, and digital transformation. They expressed optimism about India’s bright future and the need for continued focus on education, training, and women-led development. The speakers also emphasized the importance of tax reforms to support higher GDP growth.
