Dr Nalin Shinghal presently Chairman and Managing Director, Central Electronics Limited, has been appointed for the post of Chairman & Managing Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) as per recommendation of Public Enterprises Selection Board( PESB), w.e.f. the date of his assumption of the charge of the post.
Dr Shinghal has worked with the Indian Railways in various capacities in Operations, Commercial & Marketing functions as well as with Concor where he has handled Marketing, Operations & IT. Dr Shinghal has also worked with the Long Range Decision Support group of the Ministry of Railways. Prior to his current position he was with the Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) as Director Tourism & Marketing heading the Travel & Tourism business of IRCTC which is providing a range of tourism products & services and is best known for its E-Ticketing services.
Dr Nalin Shinghal has done his B.Tech (Electrical Engg) from IIT-Delhi and PGDM from IIM(Calcutta). He has been a Commonwealth Scholar and has a PhD in Transport Economics from the University of Leeds/ UK. Dr. Nalin Shinghal has published a number of articles in leading national & international journals in the areas of Transport Economics & Logistics. He is also associated with various professional bodies in eminent positions.
