Shri N.S. Viswanathan ,presently posted as Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India, has been appointed as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India,in place of Shri H.R. Khan on 3rd July 2016.He served as Principal Chief General Manager in the Department of non-banking supervision at Reserve Bank of India.
Shri Viswanathan has been an Executive Director at Reserve Bank of India since April 2014. Viswanathan, MA (Economics), served as a Director of Punjab National Bank from September 6, 2012 to May 31, 2013. He was also nominee director at Dena Bank Ltd. from May 30, 2011 to September 6, 2012. He has served as Chief General Manager of Vigilance at IFCI Ltd, Delhi-based government owned Finance Company.
