MoCA opens 1200 new vacancies to strengthens regulatory bodies DGCA, AERA and AAI

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has initiated measures to bolster the workforce and enhance institutional capabilities in key aviation regulatory bodies.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) – 416 new positions

In an effort to ensure aviation safety and oversight, 416 new positions have been established within DGCA. This expansion aims to fortify the DGCA’s capacity to maintain a secure aviation environment, with 114 of these positions already filled.

Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) – 10 new positions

AERA, responsible for regulating airport economics, has received support from the Ministry in its mission to maintain fair competition and encourage investments in airport facilities. Ten new positions have been created, with five already occupied, and the remaining five soon to be filled. Additionally, 24 vacancies in existing posts have been addressed, with three more in progress.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) – 796 new positions

To enhance air travel safety and efficiency, AAI has taken measures to bolster its workforce of Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs). A total of 796 additional ATCO positions have been created in two phases, with recruitment and training efforts underway to meet the growing demand in air travel.

These proactive steps by the Ministry of Civil Aviation underline the commitment to strengthening regulatory bodies and ensuring the continued safety and efficiency of the aviation sector.
