PIB News Update: Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Kiren Rijiju  has informed that The sports academies setup by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports through Sports Authority of India (SAI) is at Annexure I. However, with effect from 20th September, 2019, the academies at Regional Centers have been merged and now called National Center of Excellence (NCOE). Details of these NCOEs are at Annexure II.

NCOE are fully funded by the Government. The Government provides funding for boarding/lodging, sports kits, competition exposure, medical expenses, insurance, stipend, educational expenses, sports equipments, salary of coaches and other administrative staff etc. So far, Rs. 28.77 crore have been released for these NCOEs in current financial year.
