Dr Kalyani Sethuraman IRAS (1994) has been appointed to the post of CVO, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), Bengaluru, under the Department of Defence Production for an initial period of 3 years.
Ms. Kalyani Sethuraman, a distinguished officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), 1994 batch, assumed charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of M/s Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) on 19th April 2021 on deputation.
An accomplished academic, Ms. Kalyani holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Central University of Hyderabad (1990), an MBA in Public Policy and Business Administration from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
Over her illustrious career spanning more than 30 years, Ms. Kalyani has held key assignments across various departments and ministries, bringing with her deep expertise in Budget & Finance, Procurement, General Administration, Personnel Management, IT, and Training of young recruits.
Before taking over as CVO at HAL, she served as Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) in South Western Railway, Bengaluru Division, where she played a pivotal role in operations and administration. From 2012 to 2017, she was on deputation to the Department of Space as Director (Budget, Project & Legal), contributing significantly to the financial and legal management of strategic projects.
Her international experience includes serving under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as Advisor (Director) in Kabul, Afghanistan, from 2007 to 2008, supporting the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Higher Education, Government of Afghanistan.
Ms. Kalyani is widely recognized for her strong leadership, integrity, and commitment to good governance. Her rich and varied experience across sectors reflects her dedication to public service and ability to deliver in complex and challenging environments.
