Shri Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh presently Chief Justice of Tripura High Court has been transferred as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, an accomplished jurist and currently the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court, has been transferred as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. This significant appointment marks another milestone in a distinguished legal and judicial career spanning over three decades.
Born on 7th July, 1965, Justice Singh pursued his academic studies with dedication and excellence. He completed his B.A. Honours and obtained a law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Delhi, laying a strong foundation for his future in the legal field. Enrolled as an advocate in 1990, he began his practice at the Patna High Court, where he handled a wide array of cases and earned a reputation for diligence and legal acumen.
In 2001, following the formation of the state of Jharkhand, Justice Singh shifted his practice to the High Court of Jharkhand. Over the next decade, he continued to demonstrate remarkable proficiency in legal advocacy until his elevation to the Bench. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Jharkhand High Court on 24th January 2012 and confirmed as a Permanent Judge on 16th January 2014. During his tenure, he served with integrity and contributed to the development of the state’s legal jurisprudence.
Justice Singh also held the post of Executive Chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, where he played a pivotal role in promoting access to justice and legal awareness among the underserved sections of society.
In recognition of his leadership and judicial experience, he was appointed Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court from 20th December 2022 to 19th February 2023. Subsequently, on 17th April 2023, he was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura, where he served with distinction, upholding the values of fairness, efficiency, and judicial independence.
Now, as he assumes the responsibilities of Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh brings with him a legacy of deep legal insight, administrative capability, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the judiciary in Telangana and uphold its constitutional mandate with fairness and dignity.
