Jharkhand Chief Minister Shri Raghubar Das called on Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram in New Delhi today and discussed various issues pertaining to tribal welfare.
During the discussion the pending proposals for grants of fund from the Tribal Sub Plan and grant under Article 275 (1) were raised by the Jharkhand CM. They also discussed implications of recent amendments to the Santhal Pragana Tenancy Act, 1949 and the Chhota Nagpur Tenancy Act, 1908 by the Jharkhand Assembly. Both the leaders agreed that the tribal interest has to be protected at any cost while bringing about any change in the existing laws.
Shri Raghubar Das was accompanied by Secretary for Tribal Affairs Department and other senior officials of the State. Union Tribal Affairs, Secretary, Dr. Shyam Agarwal and other senior officials of the Ministry were also present during the meeting.
