Shri Javvadi V Naga Subramanyam IAS (Assam-Meghalaya 2009) presently on Central Deputation and posted as Director – Economic Affairs, New Delhi, is appointed as Joint Secretary – Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, on Central Deputation basis for a tenure of seven years upto 25.09.2026.
Shri J V N Subramanyam presently serving as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, New Delhi, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. With a distinguished career spanning over a decade, he has made significant contributions to public administration, economic policy, industrial development, and energy sector governance.
His journey in the Indian Administrative Service began in 2009, with his initial training at LBSNAA, Mussoorie. He started his career in land revenue management and district administration, serving as Assistant Commissioner in Silchar, followed by his tenure as Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) in Bongaigaon and Additional Deputy Commissioner in Dhubri, Assam. These early roles gave him invaluable experience in governance, revenue administration, and grassroots-level development.
In 2013, he transitioned to a more policy-oriented role as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms in Assam, where he played a key role in e-Governance and administrative reforms. Subsequently, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education in Assam, where he worked to enhance the state’s education administration.
His leadership skills were further demonstrated when he was appointed as Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate of Goalpara, Assam, a position where he handled crucial responsibilities in development administration, public welfare schemes, and disaster management. He then moved into the health sector as Mission Director of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Assam, contributing to the improvement of public health infrastructure and welfare programs across the state.
Shri J V N Subramanyam’s expertise in industrial development and commerce became evident during his tenure as Director in the Industries and Commerce Department, Vijayawada, and later as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (APIIC). His work in these roles significantly contributed to the state’s economic growth, investment promotion, and infrastructure expansion.
In January 2023, he was deputed to the Centre as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, where he played a key role in financial policy, economic governance, and public administration. His experience in finance and economic affairs has now led to his appointment as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, where he will oversee crucial initiatives in sustainable energy development, renewable energy policies, and clean energy investments.
