Shri J S Prajapati IAS (Gujarat 2014) , presently District Development Officer, Morbi, is
transferred and appointed as Collector – Vav-Tharad, Gujarat.

Vav-Tharad is the newest district of Gujarat, formed on October 2, 2025, by separating eight talukas from the Banaskantha district. This brings the total number of districts in Gujarat to 34.
