Delhi Circle is celebrating World Post Day during the National Postal Week 2023, which is scheduled from 9th to 13th October 2023. The week includes specific days of celebration:

  • 9th October, 2023 (Monday): World Post Day
  • 10th October, 2023 (Tuesday): Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas
  • 11th October, 2023 (Wednesday): Philately Day
  • 12th October, 2023 (Thursday): Mails & Parcels Day
  • 13th October, 2023 (Friday): Antyodaya Diwas

World Post Day is celebrated annually on 9th October, marking the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union’s creation in 1874. The purpose is to raise awareness about the role of the postal service in people’s lives and its contribution to global social and economic development. The theme for World Post Day 2023 is “Together for Trust: Collaborating for a Safe and Connected Future.”

Here are some highlights of the activities and achievements of Delhi Circle during the National Postal Week:

Mail Operation:

  • 30 DAK NIRYAT KENDRA are functional in Delhi Circle.
  • 129 on-boarded customers are sending their articles through these DNKs.

Business Development:

  • Delhi Circle has 236 Aadhaar-enabled post offices for facilitating customers/public.
  • Delhi Circle has 5 POPSKs doing passport and Police Clearance Certificate.
  • 2,755 bulk customers are availing premium services.

Philately:

  • A Philately Bureau at Sansad Marg Head Post Office and a “Philately Gallery” at Red Fort have been opened for the general public.
  • On Philately Day (11th October 2023), various workshops and seminars are organized to create interest among students about philately.

Postal Life Insurance:

  • Delhi Postal Circle has 142,763 Postal Life Insurance and 18,264 Rural Postal Life Insurance policies.
  • During the present financial year, 3,490 PLI and 674 RPLI insurants have been added.

Financial Services:

  • Department of Posts provides National Savings Schemes facilities and contemporary banking services.
  • A new scheme, Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023 (MSSC), was launched for women empowerment.

Special Initiative:

  • Delhi Circle took an initiative towards social reform by opening Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts for all girl children under “Sampoorna Sukanya Samraddh School” by Delhi Postal Circle.
