The prestigious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to the renowned Hollywood actor and producer Michael Douglas at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, made the announcement, welcoming Michael Douglas, his spouse Catherine Zeta Jones, and their son Dylan Douglas to the event. Indian film producer Shailendra Singh, celebrating 25 years in the industry, will also be in attendance.

The Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, instituted in the 30th IFFI in 1999, recognizes individuals whose exceptional contributions have significantly enriched the world of cinema. Michael Douglas, with a remarkable career, has earned two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, and an Emmy Award. His roles in cinematic masterpieces such as “Wall Street,” “Basic Instinct,” “Falling Down,” “The American President,” “Traffic,” and “Behind the Candelabra” have left an indelible imprint on cinema history. Catherine Zeta Jones, an accomplished actress, has also been recognized for her outstanding contributions to cinema and philanthropy.

As part of the 54th IFFI, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones will participate in a special In Conversation session hosted by National Award-winning film producer Shailendra Singh. The Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award has previously honored luminaries such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Carlos Saura, Martin Scorsese, Dilip Kumar, Krzysztof Zanussi, and Wong Kar-wai. The 54th IFFI promises to be a grand celebration of cinematic excellence.
