Senior IAS officers assigned additional charge in Women and Child Development and Mines Departments, Haryana Government – Indian Bureaucracy news update

Indian Bureaucracy News, Chandigarh, October 25, 2025 | The Haryana Government has carried out an administrative reshuffle, assigning additional responsibilities to three of its senior officers to ensure smooth functioning across departments.

According to available data, several officers in the state are already holding multiple portfolios, a practice that has become necessary due to the limited availability of IAS officers in the state. Haryana currently has around 172 IAS officers in position against a sanctioned strength of 215, with a proposal under consideration to raise the cadre strength to 252 in view of upcoming retirements, as around 10 officers are due to retire by the end of 2025 and another 13 by the end of 2026.

Dr G Anupama IAS (Haryana 1991), presently Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Antyodaya (SEWA) Department; ACS, Citizen Resources Information Department, Haryana, has been given additional charge of ACS – Women and Child Development Department, Haryana, relieving Shri Shekhar Vidyarthi IAS.

Shri Pankaj Agarwal IAS (Haryana 2000), presently Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana, has been assigned additional charge of Principal Secretary – Mines and Geology Department, Haryana.

Dr Priyanka Soni IAS (Haryana 2012), presently Special Secretary, Vigilance Department; Special Secretary, Monitoring and Coordination Department; and Director and Special Secretary, New and Renewable Energy Department, Haryana, given additional charge of Director – Women and Child Development Department, and, Special Secretary – Women and Child Development Department, Haryana.
