A new school building of Dum Dum Airport Girl’s High School was inaugurated by Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, IAS, Chairman, Airports Authority of India(AAI) at Kolkata on 22.06.2017. The school building is constructed as a part of AAI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Mohapatra said that AAI is doing a lot of work all over the country under CSR project, but this is a great achievement that in an academically advanced state like West Bengal we were able to facilitate education and related activities.

The construction of new school building started in March, 2016 and was completed in a record time.  While discussing the salient features, Dr. Mohapatra said that the New School building consists of 16 classrooms and teacher’s room at each floor, Headmistress’s office at both the floors, Medical room, Library, Music room, space for mid-day meal, toilet block at each floor, ramp provision and dedicated toilets for Divyaang.

Apart from above, school has roof top solar panels, fire alarm system, CCTV cameras, Computers and furniture etc.During the event, a Divyaang girl student of class 10 was given battery operated wheel- chair.

The function was attended by Sh. Sanjay Jain, Regional Executive Director (ER), Sh. Atul Dixit, Airport Director, Kolkata Airport and senior officers of AAI & School administration. Later, Dr. Mohapatra also thanked Sh. Sanjay Jain and his team for completing the school building project in record time. Dr. Mohaptra also said that the issues of cleaning and maintenance of the school will be taken up with the state Government.
