Dr.S.K Acharya, CMD, NLCIL released a book titled “The Journey of Neyveli Lignite Corporation to NLC India, A Growth Saga  co-authored by Dr. R.K Mishra  & Smt. Shulagna  Sarkar of Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad in the august presence of Functional Directors of NLCIL, Shri Rakesh Kumar, Shri V. Thangapandian, Shri R. Vikraman and Shri N.N.M Rao  and other  senior officials,  at Chennai, on 31.07.2018

The book covers in depth about the  the history, past performance and how recent  policy decisions and  pan India outlook of the corporation in letter and spirit  brought  transformational changes  and lead to  a change of name, from the erstwhile Neyveli Lignite Corporation to NLC India Limited (NLCIL).  It  highlighted the efforts of NLCIL in accomplishing its goals and shares the best practices in  enabling people oriented culture. This  book also pitches the light on how robust foundation is in place, pillars of growth have been established and the stage is set for a change in status of NLCIL from Navratna to Maharatna.

It also covers the company leadership dimensions over the years and highlights  efforts towards  employee as  well as stakeholder engagement. Also, it shares, how the NLCIL has been commended for its CSR efforts and pitches  light on some of its  high impact CSR activities.

Dr. R K Mishra, is ONGC Subir Raha Chair Professor of Corporate Governance and Senior Professor and Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, India and Smt. Shulagna Sarkar, Assistant Professor, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, is a law graduate with a PhD in HRM. She has worked in the areas of CSR, baseline surveys, impact assessment and green HRM in India.

Combined with professional and academic experience of both authors and balanced with theoretical as well as industrial aspects, this book provides inputs and various dimensions of  organizational growth elements fulfills the   needs of  a diverse range of groups like  mining & power sector experts, industrialists, academicians, student community, researchers, utilities, developers and analysts, industry.
