Bihar is celebrating its 106th foundation day today & it was on this day in 1912 the State was carved out of a United Bengal. A number of programmes have been organised throughout the state on the occasion. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate a three-day Bihar Diwas celebrations in Patna this afternoon. The Vice President will also release four books- ‘Ek Tha Mohan’, ‘Bapu Ki Chiththi’, ‘Champaran Ki Kahani’ and ‘Neel Ke Dhabbe’ on this occasion. The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Centenary of Champaran Satyagraha and Elimination of Dowry and Child Marriage.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of the State on this occasion. He said in a tweet that right from historical times, Bihar’s contribution towards the nation’s progress is exemplary and invaluable.
