The Digital Empowerment Foundation in association with Digital India Program, along with hundreds of partners, are making an effort to bring together 10,000 to 15,000 people who are making use of digital tools, grassroots innovation, traditional wisdom, earth-saving initiatives and common sense science at Prayag. These individuals are expected to come from 25-30 states of India, representing hundreds of villages, civil society organisations, social enterprises, changemakers, entrepreneurs, social leaders, KVKs, handloom clusters, federations, CSOs, NGOs, CSR groups, philanthropists, social investors, mentors, academicians and for-profit bodies such as conscious private sector, start-ups, MSMEs, impact funders, angel investors, besides the government sector of course.

Prayag, envisioned as a mela with digital as a key component, would be held on February 25, 2017, at Surajkund Mela Ground, Faridabad.

The idea is to come together for love, empathy, exploration and learning to witness how beautifully we are using various innovations, technology, wisdom and knowledge in a bottom-up approach — things we rarely see or hear about. We are also gathering to showcase diverse innovations and innovative individuals from not just our land Bharat, but all eight South Asian countries. We are looking at creating a scenario where the poor and rural population of India are not excluded from discussions but incorporated also serious stakeholders to participate in mainstream discourse.

An effort to make this space, which we are calling Prayag, to be an open space where you participate with your own agenda, knowledge, products, services, workshop, consultation, seminar, announcements, campaign, food, culture and music to celebrate your ideas with your family, friends, community and groups, among others.

Request to come forward and confirm your participation  by writing to  osama@defindia.net or to  sachin.ralhan@defindia.net and lucky@defindia.net.
