IndianBureaucracy, West Bengal News – The Government of West Bengal has announced a significant administrative change with the appointment of Shri B. P. Gopalika an experienced IAS officer from the 1989 batch of West Bengal, as the new Chief Secretary. Currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home and Hill Affairs Department, Shri Gopalika will take over from Dr. Dwivedi, who is set to retire on December 31, 2023.

In addition to his existing role, Shri B. P. Gopalika will assume responsibilities for the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department and the Parliamentary Affairs Department. The appointment is effective immediately and will continue until further orders from the Governor.

This decision reflects the government’s strategy to ensure a seamless transition in key administrative positions. Shri B. P. Gopalika’s extensive experience, particularly in the Home and Hill Affairs Department, positions him well for this crucial role.
