Former IAS Ashok Kumar Gupta has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Competition Commission of India (CCI).The Corporate Affairs Ministry has been appointed to Shri Gupta the CCI Chairperson approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) vice Shri Sudhir Mital.
Shri Gupta is Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer. He completed his Post-Graduate in Public Administration from the Syracuse University (USA) and holds a Master of Philosophy in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Madras University. His last job was Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Department of Defence Production). Previously. he has worked in various capacities in different Ministries and Departments, including Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Industry and Commerce, Small Scale Industries, Urban Development, Personnel and Shipping. Among the roles he has served is Secretary of the Department of Defence Production.
