Ms Amrita Darpan Jain IRAS (2001), presently in her cadre at Indian Railways, is appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet- ACC, cleared her posting under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs for an initial term of three years, with pay at Level 14 of the pay matrix (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200), under the central deputation of scheme.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), established in 1957 under the Delhi Development Act as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, is responsible for planned development of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Overseen by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi as Chairman, the DDA’s key roles include urban planning, crafting the Master Plan for Delhi (e.g., MPD 2021, with MPD 2041 in progress), and shaping the city’s future growth. It spearheads housing projects, developing affordable flats for EWS, LIG, MIG, and HIG groups via lottery allotments, and builds infrastructure like roads, bridges, and water supply, including new sub-cities like Dwarka. The DDA also manages commercial properties—shopping complexes and offices—disposed through auctions, and oversees land for residential, industrial, and institutional use. Additionally, it creates recreational spaces, including parks, city forests, and sports complexes, enhancing Delhi’s livability.
