An accomplished academic, Shri Yadav holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, an LL.B. in Law, and an MBA in Business Administration. His diverse education has enabled him to lead complex policy domains with analytical precision and visionary thinking, both vital in shaping progressive social welfare frameworks.
Over his distinguished career, Shri Yadav has held several significant assignments across vital sectors of governance. As Chairman, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), he focused on citizen-centric governance, technological modernization, and sustainable urban development. His tenure as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, and later as Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), was marked by key trade policy reforms and digital transformation initiatives that enhanced India’s export competitiveness and economic resilience.
His earlier assignments included important roles such as Joint Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Commissioner, Trade Tax, and Secretary, Revenue and Land & Buildings Departments in the Government of Delhi. His international exposure as Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of India to the WTO, Geneva, expanded his perspective on international trade and diplomacy, reinforcing his expertise in global economic governance.
In his current role, Shri Yadav oversees major social welfare and empowerment initiatives under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, focusing on the upliftment of marginalized communities, empowerment of senior citizens, and the promotion of social inclusion. With the additional responsibility of leading the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), he is driving forward policies that promote accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all.
