Shri Akhil Kumar IPS (UP 1994) has been appointed  as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for the balance period of his overall five year central deputation tenure upto 31.03.2018 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri B. Rajender, IAS (Bihar 1995).
