Shri Ajay Bhadoo IAS (Gujarat 1999) presently Additional Secretary- Department of Commerce has been given extension of additional charge as Director General- Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry for a period from 21.10.2025 to 20.01.2026 by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Shri Ajay Bhadoo is a distinguished civil servant known for his administrative acumen, strategic clarity, and result-oriented approach to Indian Bureaucracy. A graduate in Civil Engineering, he completed his B.E. with First Class, demonstrating early proficiency in analytical and technical domains. He further enhanced his understanding of regulatory and institutional frameworks by pursuing a Master of Business Laws from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, where he again secured First Class. This combination of engineering and law has shaped his balanced administrative style—technically sound, legally informed, and policy-sensitive.
Over the course of his service, he has held several notable positions across the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat.
