The Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Meeting is currently underway in Mumbai from September 14-16, 2023. The event has gathered more than 50 representatives from G20 member nations, special invitee countries, and International Organizations. The discussions will revolve around the ongoing initiatives in the financial inclusion agenda under G20 India Presidency, with a focus on Digital Financial Inclusion and SME Finance.

Prior to the meeting, a Symposium on Digital Public Infrastructure, aimed at empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), will be held on September 14, 2023. Global experts will engage in panel discussions covering two significant themes: “Energizing MSMEs for Higher Economic Growth through Digital Public Infrastructure” and “Credit Guarantees and SME ecosystems”. The Symposium will explore the pivotal role of DPI in accelerating financial inclusion for MSMEs.

Throughout the subsequent two days, GPFI members will deliberate on GPFI initiatives pertaining to the implementation of G20 GPFI High-Level Principles for Digital Financial Inclusion, updates on National Remittance Plans, and share best practices and innovative approaches to address common hurdles in SME financing.

Additionally, a Symposium on “Advancing Financial Inclusion through Digital Public Infrastructure: Empowering Consumers through Digital and Financial Literacy and Consumer Protection” is scheduled for September 16, 2023, as a part of the GPFI Meeting. In addition to the meetings, delegates attending the 4th GPFI Working Group meeting will also have the opportunity to visit the historic Kanheri Caves in Mumbai.
