The Government of India has given the green light to establish 100 new Sainik Schools in collaboration with NGOs, Private Schools, and State Governments, starting from Class 6 onwards. A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has already been signed by the Sainik Schools Society with 19 new Sainik Schools located across the country.

Following a thorough evaluation of applications for additional Sainik Schools under the partnership model, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has granted approval for the establishment of 23 more Sainik Schools through this mode. This development raises the total number of new Sainik Schools operating under the aegis of the Sainik School Society to 42, in addition to the existing 33 Sainik Schools already functioning under the previous pattern.

The vision behind Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative to set up 100 new Sainik Schools is to offer high-quality education to students in line with the National Education Policy and provide them with enhanced career opportunities, including the option to join the Armed Forces. This initiative also provides an opportunity for the private sector to collaborate with the Government in the noble task of nation-building by shaping today’s youth into responsible citizens of tomorrow.
