Indian Bureaucracy News, Chennai, July 15, 2026| In a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving senior bureaucracy of the state, the Tamil Nadu Government has issued transfer and posting orders affecting 19 IAS officers across various departments. The Government has sanctioned the creation of three temporary posts of Additional Chief Secretary grade in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Higher Education Department, and Information Technology and Digital Services Department, along with four Super Time Scale posts of Secretary to Government in the Public and Rehabilitation Department, Transport Department, Labour Department, and Prohibition and Excise Department, and three Senior Scale posts of Director in the Art and Culture Department, Museums Department, and Additional Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

As part of this exercise, many Additional Chief Secretaries have been transferred, including Shri Pradeep Yadav IAS, Dr Atul Anand IAS, and Shri Dheeraj Kumar IAS, while Smt Kakarla Usha IAS has been moved to the Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department. Several Secretaries and Directors have also been repositioned, and five officers, namely Smt Supriya Sahu IAS, Dr J Radhakrishnan IAS, Dr V Arun Roy IAS, Smt Pooja Kulkarni IAS, and Shri Waghe Sanket Balwant IAS, have been placed to various State Government undertakings and institutions including Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Anna Administrative Staff College, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board, and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation.

List of all the officers with their present and new postings are detailed below.

  1. Shri Pradeep Yadav IAS (Tamil Nadu 1992), presently Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Information Technology and Digital Services Department, is transferred and appointed as ACS – Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, relieving Dr Atul Anand IAS.
  2. Dr Atul Anand IAS (Tamil Nadu 1994), presently Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, is transferred and appointed as ACS – Information Technology and Digital Services Department, relieving Shri Pradeep Yadav IAS.
  3. Shri Dheeraj Kumar IAS (Tamil Nadu 1993), presently in the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and posted as Commissioner, Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, is transferred and appointed as ACS – Higher Education Department, relieving Dr V Arun Roy IAS.
  4. Smt Kakarla Usha IAS (Tamil Nadu 1994), presently Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Public and Rehabilitation Department, is transferred and appointed as ACS – Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department, relieving Smt Supriya Sahu IAS.
  5. Smt E Sundaravalli IAS (Tamil Nadu 2007), presently Special Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Public and Rehabilitation Department, relieving Smt Kakarla Usha IAS.
  6. Shri Nirmal Raj IAS (Tamil Nadu), presently Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Transport Department, relieving Dr M Vallalar IAS.
  7. Dr P Umanath IAS (Tamil Nadu 2001), formerly Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, is appointed as Industries Commissioner and Director –  Industries and Commerce, relieving Shri Nirmal Raj IAS.
  8. Smt Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan IAS (Tamil Nadu 2002), presently Principal Secretary and posted as Commissioner, Disaster Management, Tamil Nadu Disaster Risk Reduction Agency, Commissionerate of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Transport and Road Safety, relieving Shri D Baskara Pandian IAS.
  9. Dr M Vallalar IAS (Tamil Nadu 2003), presently Secretary, Transport Department, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Labour, relieving Smt Shilpa Prabhakar Satish IAS.
  10. Smt R Gajalakshmi IAS (Tamil Nadu 2009), presently Commissioner, Land Administration, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Prohibition and Excise, relieving Smt Pooja Kulkarni IAS.
  11. Smt Mageswari Ravikumar IAS (Tamil Nadu 2011), presently Director, Social Welfare, is transferred and appointed as Director – Art and Culture, relieving Dr R Brindha Devi IAS.
  12. Smt D Rathna IAS (Tamil Nadu 2011), presently Additional Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, is transferred and appointed as Additional Commissioner – Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Chennai, relieving Smt Tmt Usha IAS.
  13. Shri D Baskara Pandian IAS (Tamil Nadu 2014), presently Director, Transport and Road Safety, is transferred and appointed as Director – Museums, relieving Dr M Vallalar IAS.
  14. Dr R Brindha Devi IAS (Tamil Nadu 2016), presently Director, Art and Culture, is transferred and appointed as Director – Social Welfare, relieving Smt Mageswari Ravikumar IAS.
  15. Smt Supriya Sahu IAS (Tamil Nadu 1991), presently Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner –  Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, an ACS rank, relieving Shri Dheeraj Kumar IAS.
  16. Dr J Radhakrishnan IAS (Tamil Nadu 1992), presently Additional Chief Secretary and posted as Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation, is transferred and appointed as Director – Anna Administrative Staff College, with additional charge of Director General of Training, Chennai, relieving Shri C Samayamoorthy IAS.
  17. Dr V Arun Roy IAS (Tamil Nadu 2003), presently Secretary, Higher Education Department, is transferred and appointed as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) – Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chennai, with additional charge of Chairman – Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation, Chairman – Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation, and Chairman – Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation, relieving Dr J Radhakrishnan IAS.
  18. Smt Pooja Kulkarni IAS (Tamil Nadu 2003), presently Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise, is transferred and appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board.
  19. Shri Waghe Sanket Balwant IAS (Tamil Nadu 2021), presently Additional Collector Development at Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, Coimbatore, is transferred and appointed as Executive Director – Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, relieving Smt Sweta Suman IAS.
