Dr. Yogesh Suri presently working as Adviser, NITI Aayog and holding additional charge as Director-General of the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development(NILERD) get extension of the additional charge as DG, NILERD for a period of 06 month.
Dr. Yogesh Suri is holding additional charge as Director-General of the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (formerly known as the Institute of Applied Manpower Research). The institute, true to its tradition of carrying out pioneering studies on labour and labour related issues, capacity building in the areas of human resource planning and development, bringing out publications & conducting large scale evaluations in the country, continued its work under the leadership of the current Director General. He is instrumental in taking forward the Institute’s activities especially relating to international training programmes and evaluation functions in coordination with NITI Aayog & other development partners keeping in view the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Yogesh Suri is currently Adviser with the NITI Aayog, Government of India, looking after various verticals like Industry, Governance and Research. He is a member of various Inter Ministerial Committees of the Government. Dr. Suri has vast & diverse experience of more than 23 years. Some of the key areas that he has been involved ranges from planning & development, food security, industry, consumer affairs, macro-economic research, empowering micro, small & medium enterprises, banking, financial markets, risk management, etc to name a few. Dr. Suri joined the erstwhile Planning Commission, Government of India in September 2010. Prior to this he served as Chief Economist of the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and worked in various capacities with Small Industries Development Bank of India. A graduate from Hindu College, University of Delhi, Dr. Suri holds a Master’s Degree in Business Economics (MBE) from University of Delhi and Ph.D from the University of Rajasthan. He also holds Diploma in Business Finance from ICFAI and is a certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
