West Bengal transfers six IAS officers | Indian Bureaucracy News
Kolkata, July 13, 2026: The Government of West Bengal on Monday issued a major administrative reshuffle, transferring six Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments and field assignments. The appointments, notified by the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (IAS Cell), take immediate effect and have been made in the interest of public service.
The following postings have been ordered:
- Shri Md. Ghulam Ali Ansari IAS (WB:2000), who was serving as Divisional Commissioner, Malda Division, has been appointed Principal Secretary, Water Resources Investigation & Development Department, with additional charge of Project Director, ADMI Project.
- Shri Sanjay Bansal IAS (WB:2004), Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department, holding additional charge of Secretary, Water Resources Investigation & Development Department and Project Director, ADMI Project, has been assigned the additional responsibility of Secretary, Finance (Revenue) Department, while continuing as Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department.
- Shri Saurav Pahari IAS (WB:2008), Director, Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management, has been posted as Divisional Commissioner, Presidency Division.
- Ms Ayesha Rani A. IAS (WB:2009), Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner, Malda Division.
- Shri Arindam Mani IAS (WB:2014), Special Commissioner in the rank of Special Secretary, Land & Land Reforms and Refugee Relief & Rehabilitation Department, has been appointed Secretary, State Election Commission.
- Ms Saequa Monazza IAS (WB:2014), OSD, Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department and Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies, has been appointed Director, Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management, with additional charge as Special Commissioner, Environment Department.
According to the notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms, the transfers have been approved by the Competent Authority and take effect immediately in the interest of public service.
