PIB News Update: Election Commission of India has appointed Shri Vinod Zutshi ( former IAS Raj Retd), former Deputy Election Commissioner ECI and Secretary Tourism, as Special Observer for the ensuing Elections to 23 – Assandh Assembly Constituency of Karnal District in Haryana in light of the video circulating in social media. Sh Zutshi has been requested to proceed immediately to the Constituency to take necessary corrective action and ensure free, fair and peaceful election.
Sh Zutshi has earlier worked as Chief Electoral Officer Rajasthan. He also worked in ECI for seven years in various capacities. Sh Zutshi was deputed as Special Observer to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tripura during the recent Lok Sabha General Elections in April 2019.
