Smt Vini Mahajan IAS (Punjab 1987) presently Additional Chief Secretary, Investment Promotion and in addition Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce and in addition Additional Chief Secretary Information Technology and in addition Additional Chief Secretary, Governance Reforms and Public Grievances, has been appointed as Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab and in addition Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel and Vigilance vice Shri Karan Avtar Singh IAS.
An Economics graduate from LSR , she completed her MBA from IIMK in 1987 and joined the IAS the same year. She also was a Hubert Humphrey fellow based at American University in Washington DC. During her term as Additional CS- Dept of Revenue, Rehabilitation & Disaster Management, Punjab became the first state in the country to roll out the National Generic Document Registration System. Many other IT initiatives were also started, including an online Revenue Court Management System. Prior to such innovative measures,she was ACS/ Principal Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare since April 2012 and concurrently served as Principal Secretary Department of Medical Education and Research.
