Vice-President hosts lunch for G20 Summit delegates

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar hosted a luncheon on October 14, 2023, for the G20 delegates participating in the Ninth G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. The event was graced by the presence of speakers and delegation heads from G20 nations who attended the 9th P20 Summit and Parliamentary Forum, organized by the Parliament of India in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) from October 12 to 14, 2023, in New Delhi.

On the same day, Vice-President Dhankhar had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Duarte Pacheco, President of IPU, at Yashobhoomi, covering the significance of interparliamentary cooperation and the IPU’s role as a platform for addressing contemporary issues. During the Parliamentary Forum and the P20 Summit, the Vice-President also met and discussed bilateral ties with various parliamentary delegations.

On October 13, 2023, Shri Dhankhar received the P20 Parliamentary delegation of Türkiye led by H.E. Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Russian delegation, led by H.E. Ms. Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, at Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas. Discussions encompassed historical, cultural ties, and the need for increased parliamentary exchanges between India and these nations.

On October 12, 2023, the Vice-President met with the Australian Parliamentary delegation, led by the President of the Senate, Senator Sue Lines, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, H.E. Mr. Milton Dick. H.E. Shaikh Abdulmalik Al Khalili, Chairman of Majlis A’ Dwala (State Council) of the Sultanate of Oman, also visited the Vice-President at Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas. The discussions focused on the promotion of parliamentary exchanges to strengthen the enduring friendly relations and people-to-people connections among the nations.
