The position of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhajjar is one of the most important administrative assignments in the district administration of Haryana. The Deputy Commissioner serves as the administrative head of the district and plays a crucial role in governance, development administration, revenue management, law and order coordination, and implementation of government policies and welfare schemes.
Generally held by a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer, the Deputy Commissioner acts as the key representative of the state government at the district level. The officer coordinates with various departments including health, education, rural development, agriculture, social welfare, urban administration, public works, and disaster management to ensure effective delivery of public services.
The Deputy Commissioner is also responsible for maintaining coordination with police authorities for law and order management, election administration, and disaster response activities.
