Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) came into existence in 1976, by virtue of BurmahShell (Acquisition of Undertaking in India) Act, 1976 when the right, title and interest of BurmahShell Oil Storage & Distribution Company of India Ltd. was taken over by Govt. of India. Its main
objective is to undertake refining and marketing of Petroleum products. BPCL is a Schedule – ‘A’ /
Maharatna CPSE in Petroleum sector with the administrative jurisdiction of Ministry of Petroleum
and Natural Gas.
II. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Director(Refineries) is a member of the Board of the Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. He exercises overall technical control on refineries to achieve highest standards of efficiency in operations and is responsible for developing plans to enhance productivity of the refineries.
