UP Govt sanctions 47 Cr to provide drinking water in Bundelkhand

In Uttar Pradesh the government has sanction 47 crore rupees immediately to provide drinking water during summer season in Bundelkhand region of the state. Bundelkhand is badly affected with drought for last several years. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the officials for adequate arrangements of water for the people as well as to cattle during summer.

AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that several Irrigation and drinking water schemes including Arjun Sahayak canal project, drinking water schemes for 15 villages in Babina block of Jhansi district, Bhaurath Dam project, Jamrar dam project, Kachanaunda dam project and project of connecting rivers of Ken and Betawa are being implemented in Bundelkhand region for last several years and huge amount has already been expended.

Announcing his visit to the region in this month to take stock of the situation mr yogi has asked the officials to complete the on going projects within stipulated time. He has said that water is available at 29 reservoirs in the region and it should be utilised in proper manner.

The Chief Minister has Said that steps must be taken that drinking water must be available to the people and they don’t face hardship for it.
