Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, inaugurated the Capacity Building Plan (CBP) for government employees at the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) headquarters in New Delhi.

The CBP, developed by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) in consultation with DoPT, is a new initiative aimed at training government officers and optimizing their deployment based on their skills and competencies.

Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted the importance of eGovernance, which promotes efficiency and environmental friendliness by reducing paperwork and saving time and confirmed that the Karmayogi Prarambh module has been integrated into the induction training of all government employees. This module has been implemented for new recruits who recently joined government service under the Rozgar Mela. He called upon the CBC to continuously update and revise training modules to keep pace with evolving technology, particularly in the era of Artificial Intelligence.

The CBC Chairman, Shri Adil Zainulbhai, informed the Minister that the CBP includes 700 courses on the iGOT (Integrated Government Online Training) platform. He noted that out of approximately three million Central Government employees, one million are in the Railways, another million in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and the remaining million in various Ministries and Departments. The majority of the training focuses on common functional and behavioral skills (80%), with the remaining 20% dedicated to domain-specific tasks and roles. Mission Karmayogi and iGOT aim to transform government employees into efficient and skilled individuals, turning “karamcharis” into “Karamyogis.” Dr Jitendra Singh also suggested developing a similar training module for ministers.
