The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released a consultation paper on “Assignment of Spectrum for Space-based Communication Services” on April 6, 2023. The initial deadline for stakeholders to submit written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper was May 4, 2023, with a deadline for counter comments set for May 18, 2023. However, considering the requests from stakeholders and industry associations, the deadline for written comments was extended to June 1, 2023, and for counter comments to June 15, 2023.
TRAI has received comments from 64 stakeholders in response to the consultation paper, and these comments are available on TRAI’s website. In response to a request from an industry association for an extension of time for submission of counter comments, TRAI has decided to further extend the deadline for written counter comments to June 22, 2023. No additional requests for extensions will be considered beyond this date.
