The Department of Defence Production is currently executing Special Campaign 3.0, with a specific focus on instilling cleanliness practices and reducing delays in Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and their associated offices. This Swachhta Campaign 3.0 is a significant effort to promote cleanliness throughout the department, with active participation from all DPSUs and Department of Defence Production (DDP) entities. During the first three weeks of the campaign, organizations within the department conducted 746 cleanliness drives, which were also widely publicized on various social media platforms. Additionally, the department is consistently reviewing pending cases to reduce any existing backlog.

As of the end of the third week of the campaign, the Department of Defence Production has achieved the following milestones:

  • Reviewed 21,000 files/records and segregated files for weeding out.
  • Freed up 7.5 lakh square feet of space by disposing of scrap/unused items.
  • Disposed of 2700 metric tons of scrap/unused items.
  • Earned 20 crore INR in revenue through scrap disposal.
  • Resolved 153 public grievances.
  • Resolved 52 public grievances appeals.

With clear objectives and a robust monitoring system, the department is committed to achieving the goals of Special Campaign 3.0. Progress is closely monitored at the highest levels on a daily basis, and updates are posted on the SCDPM portal of the DARPG. Public awareness about the campaign is disseminated through various means, including social media, banners, posters, and engaging painting competitions. Over 570 tweets have been shared on social media, tagged with #SpecialCampaign 3.0, by both DPSUs and DDP.
