Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police has raided 5 more petrol pumps in Lucknow and arrested 2 people in connection with the short measuring of fuel. After busting the racket, STF along with other agencies is raiding petrol pumps in Lucknow and plans to make raids across the state.
SSP of STF Amit Pathak told that as of now 15 petrol pumps have been raided and 24 people have been arrested in connection with shorty supply due to planted chip device in machines. FIRs against 7 petrol pumps have been lodged for using these chips to cheat customers and steal petrol.
This move came on after a tip off that some pumps are dispensing less petrol due to electronic chip fitted in machines last week . The STF said that after installation of chip, the output in the dispensing machines reduces by nearly 5 to 10 percent.
A meeting of chief secretory , Petroleum officers, supply department ,fuel retailer is being organised at lucknow.
