As per Census, 2011 the population of senior citizens in the country is 10.38 crore. Senior Citizens being a vulnerable group face challenges/ insecurities. As per National Crime Records Bureau Report 2021, there were a total of 26,110 crimes recorded against the senior citizens in 2021. Law and Order and Police being subject of the states, necessary action is taken by these agencies in this regard.
