The Minister of Minority Affairs, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today informed that as per Census 2011, Parsis are numerically the smallest minority community among the six (6) centrally notified minority communities. The National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) has granted Minority Status Certificate to 14 institutions which have been established and are administered by Parsi Community itself.
Year-wise details of students belonging to Parsi community who applied for scholarships and the number of scholarships sanctioned during 2017-18 to 2021-22 is at Annexure.
