Under the scheme of Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana, Grants in Aid is provided to NGOs for maintaining (534) Senior Citizen Homes. The grant covers cost of providing food, shelter, healthcare facilities to the indigent senior citizens. The State-wise list of number of Senior Citizen Homes is given at Annexure I. Funds allocated/released in the last 5 years under IPSrC are as under –

The data on CSR spending on Old Age Homes is not maintained in this Ministry. However, this Ministry has launched a scheme of CSR funds for Elderly care (a component under AVYAY) w.e.f. 01.04.2021 with the objective to channelize the CSR funds in an appropriate manner for elderly care projects.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Sushri Pratima Bhoumik in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
