SJVN declared dividend -Indian Bureaucracy

On account of its annual financial performance for the year 2016-17, SJVN Limited has paid a dividend of Rs 733.32 to Govt. of India holding 64.5% equity in the company. SJVN had declared a total dividend of Rs 1137.57 crores for FY 2016-17 which is the highest paid so far. An amount of Rs 599.99 crore has already been paid to Govt. of India as interim dividend and the cheque of remaining amount of Rs 133.33 crores as final dividend is now released. Last year SJVN paid a total dividend of Rs 455.03 crore.

The dividend cheque was handed over to Hon’ble Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy (IC) Shri R.K. Singh by Sh R N Misra, CMD SJVN, Sh A S Bindra Director (Finance), Sh N L Sharma Director (Personnel), Sh R K Bansal Director (Electrical) Limited at New Delhi.

While handing over the cheque to the Shri R.K. Singh, Sh Misra informed hon’ble Minister that against the MoU target of generation of 8700 Million Units of electricity from its power stations SJVN has generated 9045 million units during the financial year 2016-17.

Sh Misra also said that, Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. The Company’s other projects namely 412 MW Rampur HE Project in Himachal Pradesh, 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra and 5.25 MW Charnakha Solar Power Plant in Gujarat are already in operation.   SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating 1964.6 MW of electricity.
