NLCIL, under ‘Cleanliness is Service’ (15.09.2017-02.10.2017) has adopted the Villages of Koliruppu-NainarKuppam, PalliNeerOdai and Khorana PattuChathiram for the purpose of constructing 18 Public Conveniences at a cost of Rs.12 Lakhs through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative to eradicate open defection. Action plan has been drawn for further initiatives to educate and encourage public to use conveniences. Maintenance of the water bodies is an important feature of this project.Students of Neyveli Schools and College have joined in cleaning areas of Neyveli Town.
The company observed the ‘Cleanliness Fortnight’ (16-31.08.2017) in letter and sprit.On the concluding day 31.08.2017, an Awareness campaign was organised in the villages of PulamPadi, Palli Neer Odai, Khorana Pattu Chathiram and Therkiruppu through Street Plays and Hoardings mounted on vans.The team also engaged in cleaning of the villages.The CSR Cell of NLCIL in association with the Volunteer organization People Service Group (PSG) turned the Palli Neer Odai Village in to a cent percent clean village on 22.09.2017.NLCIL is to build Four public toilets at a cost of Rs.3 Lakh with water facility and Lighting.
Similarly at Koll Iruppu, Nainar Kuppam and Khorana Pattu Chathiram the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors(AVBD) will join NLCIL and the PSG in constructing 6 and 8 conveniences at a cost of Rs.9 Lakhs.While the areas in Koll Iruppu, Nainar Kuppam were cleaned up yesterday (28.09.2017), Khorana Pattu Chathiram Village is to be cleaned
