Ms Shanmuga Priya Mishra IAS (Madhya Pradesh 2010) has been empanelled as Joint Secretary at the Centre.

Born with a strong academic orientation, Ms Mishra completed her B.Tech. from Anna University, Chennai, laying a solid technical foundation early in her career. She further pursued higher studies at Alagappa College, earning a Master’s degree in Pharmacology with First Class with Distinction. Demonstrating her interdisciplinary interests, she obtained a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), securing First position. Her academic journey reached international heights when she completed a Master of Arts in Education with First Class with Distinction from University College London (UCL) during her study leave in the United Kingdom (2019–2020). This blend of engineering, pharmacology, public policy, and education uniquely positions her within contemporary governance frameworks.

Ms Mishra began her administrative career with training at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) from 2010 to 2012. Her early field postings included serving as Assistant Collector in Singrauli and Hoshangabad, followed by Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Revenue, Hoshangabad. These formative assignments strengthened her expertise in land revenue management, district administration, and grassroots governance.

She subsequently served as Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat, Hoshangabad, where she played a crucial role in strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions and implementing rural development initiatives. Her tenure as District Collector (2018–2019) further demonstrated her leadership in land revenue management and district administration, where she handled complex governance challenges with administrative acumen.

In 2019, she briefly served as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Home, Madhya Pradesh, before proceeding on study leave abroad. Upon her return, she assumed key roles in recruitment and skill development. As Director (Additional Secretary Equivalent) in the General Administration Department and State Employees’ Selection Commission, Bhopal, she oversaw recruitment and personnel management processes, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

Between 2020 and 2022, she held dual responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Secretary) in the Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department and Director (Additional Charge) in Employment. From November 2022 to February 2024, she served as Director in the Employees Selection Board, Bhopal, where she further strengthened institutional frameworks related to recruitment and examinations. Since 27 February 2024, she has been serving as Director at LBSNAA, Mussoorie (Centre), with tenure extending up to February 2028.
