Shri Shamsher Singh Rawat IAS (Andhra Pradesh 1992) presently waiting for posting has now been appointed as Special Chief Secretary – General Administration (Services &HRM) Department duly relieving Shri Mukesh Kumar Meena IAS (1998) from full additional charge.

Shri Shamsher Singh Rawat is a seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer currently awaiting posting, with his recent appointment as Special Chief Secretary of the General Administration (Services & HRM) Department in Andhra Pradesh. With a background in Geography (Second Division), he has served in various prestigious roles across multiple departments, showcasing his versatility and dedication to public administration. His career journey spans over two decades, during which he has contributed significantly to the government of Andhra Pradesh in diverse areas such as rural development, finance, social welfare, and land revenue management. Notably, he served as Secretary to the Government in the Social Welfare Department and as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Civil Supplies Corporation, where he was instrumental in shaping key policy frameworks.

Shri Rawat has also held critical positions, including Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, Commissioner in the Rural Development Department, and District Collector & Magistrate in Chittoor. His leadership in these roles reflects his ability to handle complex administrative tasks while ensuring the welfare of the public. In addition, Shri Rawat has experience in the finance sector, having served as Additional Commissioner in the Taxes Department. His commitment to service was further demonstrated through his tenure as Project Director and CEO in the Khammam district, where he focused on development administration and welfare programs.

In terms of additional responsibilities, Shri Rawat served as Principal Secretary to the Government for the Minorities Welfare Department from August 2016 to April 2019.
