Shri Shailendra Singh IAS (MP 1988) presently Joint Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion vice Shri Sanjiv Gupta IAS (HP 1985) .
Shri Singh holds a degree in Law. Early in his career, Mr. Singh was Collector of Raigarh and Mandsaur districts in Madhya Pradesh. Between June, 1999 and January, 2003, he was Addl. Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation, post which he took over as the Managing Director of the Milk Board in Agriculture & Cooperation (Dairy). Prior to his current stint as Jt. Secretary, DIPP, Mr. Singh has held important positions — Chief Executive Officer of M.P. Rural Road Development Authority, Commissioner of Commercial Tax Department, Managing Director of State Mining Development Corporation and Principal Secretary of SC/ST Welfare Department.
